Welcome to Our Happy Place! We are part of Dunes Estates, a quiet 12-home development 150 yards from the beach. Centrally located along popular Highway 30-A, this spacious, modern and comfortable beach home is an ideal location to enjoy your beach vacation. It's a short walk to pristine white sandy beaches and blue-green Gulf waters. You are 30 seconds away from the Dunes Estates private pool (heated seasonally) & tennis/pickleball court.
The first floor features a spacious great room with two casual and comfortable seating areas and a BRAND NEW 55” Smart 4K TV. The dining area includes seating for up to 12 people at the large dining table and breakfast bar. The well-equipped kitchen includes a stainless refrigerator with filtered water and ice in the door, dishwasher, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, high speed blender and coffee maker (k-cup AND regular drip). There is also a BRAND NEW washer and dryer available. We provide board games, books and puzzles along with an Alexa Echo Plus speaker for playing your favorite tunes. A covered, well-lit front porch features four Adirondack chairs and tables, ideal for morning coffee and happy hour beverages. There is a bedroom with a king size bed, walk-in closet and full bath on this level as well...great for guests who may not want to climb stairs.
The second floor features two bedrooms: a large primary suite (king) with a full walk-in closet and a large guest suite (also king), each with private full baths and flat screen 40” Smart Roku TVs. These bedrooms open to a large, covered, well-lit deck--a private retreat for relaxed reading, or enjoying your morning coffee with beautiful views while seated in high-top Adirondack chairs.
The third floor comfortably sleeps four with twin size bunks and a matching twin size trundle unit, a full bath and LCD TV. The bedroom opens to an equally large covered terrace with views of the Gulf and table seating for four along with two Adirondack chairs for relaxed seating. The terrace is perfect for entertaining, sunsets, and casual dining.
The parking pad will accommodate a maximum of 3 vehicles (including golf carts). No street parking allowed.
Our Happy Place is dog friendly. With prior approval, house-trained, well behaved and full-grown dogs are welcome (maximum of 2 dogs, no puppies). There are unlimited dog-walking options in the immediate vicinity--the local streets, the beach (permit required), and nearby trails. Walton County dog ordinances and fees are enforced on the beach--please check in advance.
Location and access to the beach matter-- Our Happy Place is an easy and short 2-block walk to the beach. The Gulf waters are ideal for snorkeling, paddle boards, kayaks and body surfing. The beaches are renowned for sugar white, soft sands and are ideal for long, peaceful walks. You will have access to 200 yards of publicly owned beach to lay your towels and chairs. We provide four beach chairs with back straps, two beach umbrellas and various kid’s toys along with a beach-rugged wagon for ease of transport.
Beach vacations are great for outdoor cooking and we provide a Char Broil stainless steel professional series gas grill for your catch or purchase of the day from the local seafood markets or Publix grocery.
Within a 10 minute radius you have unlimited dining options, from casual to elegant. Seaside and Rosemary Beach host farmers markets and seasonal entertainment on the weekends. The Big Chill (formerly The Hub), less than 5 minutes away, has many shops, offers live music and is popular with high school and college aged kids.
Check local calendars--30-A is a festive place, including wine festivals, outdoor movies, 5k, 10K and an annual half-marathon, art exhibits, and more. There are several local health clubs open to the public on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. 30-A and connecting highways offer 30+ miles of paved bike paths so you can walk, run, or bike to many local attractions. Numerous local vendors rent golf carts (licensed and highway legal) for alternative, local transportation.
The many freshwater lakes along 30-A are perfectly suited for paddle boards, kayaks, fishing and birding. A quaint county park on 62-acre Eastern Lake is only 150 yards away. The park has a paved boat ramp and picnic area and allows small motorboats. Deep sea fishing and scuba diving are available in nearby Destin and Panama City Beach.
Scenic Route 30-A:
Our Happy Place is centrally located on 30-A with many popular beach communities just to the east and west: Seaside, Rosemary Beach, Blue Mountain Beach, Alys Beach, Grayton Beach, and Watercolor. Deer Lake State Park is two minutes away with several miles of shaded and picturesque hiking trails. Grayton Beach and Camp Helen State Parks, and the 15,000-acre Point Washington State Forest are less than 10 minutes away and boast unlimited hiking, mountain bike trails and other amenities.
Primary renter must be at least 24 years old and must be present at all times. No smoking is allowed inside or outside of the property. There is an exterior security camera. Owner reserves the right to monitor for infractions of the rental agreement.
